About the Opportunity
On behalf of our client, Sunbytes is hiring a Chief Accountant to lead the Finance & Accounting function of an established technology company in the mobile gaming industry. With a team of several hundred professionals and a strong portfolio of products in local and international markets, our client is entering its next phase of growth. In this role, you will take full ownership of the company's accounting function, from setting up robust systems and controls to acting as a trusted advisor to the Board on accounting policy, tax planning, and investment decisions. It is a strategic leadership position with direct exposure to senior management and real influence on how the business scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Function Ownership: Lead the end‑to‑end accounting operation, ensuring every process is accurate, transparent, and fully compliant with Vietnamese regulations.
- Systems & Internal Control: Design and maintain a sound accounting framework and internal controls, and streamline accounting workflows across the company's business lines.
- Reporting & Insights: Deliver financial statements and management reports on time, turning accounting data into clear insights for leadership.
- Tax Strategy: Ensure full tax compliance and recommend tax‑efficient structures and practices to the Board.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the main point of contact for tax authorities, external auditors, banks, and other partners.
- Investment Support: Advise leadership on accounting policies and support the assessment and execution of investment projects.
- ERP Excellence: Own the company's ERP from an accounting perspective and drive continuous improvement in tools and automation.
- Business Partnering: Support other departments in meeting accounting, tax, and reporting requirements.
- People Leadership: Build, coach, and develop a high‑performing accounting team.
Requirements
Technical skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field.
- Valid Chief Accountant Certificate (Chứng chỉ Kế toán trưởng) as required by Vietnamese regulations. ACCA or CPA is a strong advantage.
- At least 10 years of experience in accounting, including a minimum of 5 years as Chief Accountant.
- In‑depth knowledge of Vietnamese accounting standards (VAS) and tax regulations (CIT, VAT, PIT, FCT) relevant to the technology sector.
- Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems; hands‑on experience implementing an enterprise accounting system is highly preferred.
- Experience in technology, gaming, or digital companies is a strong plus.
Soft skills
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders (tax authorities, auditors, banks, partners).
- Meticulous, detail‑oriented, and able to perform well under high pressure.
