Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for fully understanding current process capability, executing and improving processes simply, reliably, and efficiently. Reduce process variance and ensure product yield achieves target.
- Specific duties including but not limited to:
- Ensure the readiness, up‑to‑date status, and reliability of processes WI, WPS, BOM/Routing.
- Ensure P‑FMEA is updated and applied on time.
- Troubleshoot on the shop floor for thin film coater.
- Evaluate, document, and ensure new processes or process changes are compatible with corporate engineering and manufacturing information systems.
- Strictly enforce manufacturing procedures & equipment operation through training & audits.
- Lead and/or participate in resolutions or problems, which may be people, machinery, or process related.
- Train operators and technicians on technical aspects of process flow & equipment operation, including safety.
- Weekly review for improvement to meet target yield of process.
- Complete CAR and Task efficiently on time.
- Saving cost by continually optimizing and improving processing method, material, tooling, consumable, etc. Specific duties including but not limited to:
- QRB Project: Qualify new material, machine, tooling, consumable, process (exclude measurement related).
- Improvement Project for cost saving and capability improvement.
- Develop alternative material, tooling, consumable, machine.
- Optimize process to shorten cycle time.
- Support P.I.C team for supply chain localization for cost saving.
Education & Experience
- At least 2 years of related working experience in a manufacturing environment with a highly technical, quality‑oriented, high‑volume, light‑manufacturing environment. Working experience in Optical Manufacturing is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or sciences. Preferred specializations: Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Sciences, Materials Engineering, and other relevant specializations.
- Develop new process technique, extend process capability, capture new part order. Specific duties including but not limited to:
- Drive new product/process, new process technique.
- Organize active trials for new process method, new tooling, new consumable.
- Technical problem handling and support for internal customer. Specific duties including but not limited to:
- Support QA for customer complaint investigation and improvement (for engineering issue).
- Support Product Engineers for troubleshooting and trial processes for improvement.
- Support Production team for abnormal issues.
Skills
- Experience in well‑developed fault isolation, problem solving & analytical skills.
- Experience in methodization and improvement of manufacturing processes.
- Experience in designing simple tools, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing processes.
- Experience in using P‑FMEA, SPC, and other statistical methods.
- Experience in using AutoCAD.
- Ability to use English for business communication. Mandarin as the 3rd language is an advantage.
