OVERVIEW
We are looking for translators with experience in translating patents from English into Portuguese (Brazil) (native‑level fluency of Portuguese) with immediate availability for a patent translation project.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in translating and proofreading patents, specifically in the field of Computer Science, Electricity.

Main Duties
- Translate patent‑related content from English into Portuguese (Brazil), conveying the original meaning in a manner that is readable and understandable to the target audience.
- Perform translation and copy edit from English (en‑US) to Portuguese (pt‑BR) for patents.
- Identify and correct linguistic errors, ensuring consistency in terminology, style, and adherence to client‑specific guidelines.
- Provide detailed feedback to translators and create comprehensive quality reports.
- Ensure adherence to client‑specific style guides, glossaries, and project guidelines.
- Utilize CAT tools (XTM) to review and assess translations efficiently.
- Manage weekly capacity to handle +5,000 words per locale and ensure timely task completion.
Requirements
- BS/BA in linguistics, translation, biology, or related fields.
- 2+ years of work experience in translation, linguistic quality assessment, copywriting, or copy‑editing, specifically in patents or technical content.
- Deep understanding of biological terminology and ability to adapt complex scientific language for target audiences.
- Proven experience in reviewing or translating patents or technical documents.
- Proficiency in using CAT tools like XTM for project management and quality assessment.
