General Manager | Holiday Inn Resort Halong Bay, Vietnam
An opportunity to shape something exceptional. Lead the pre-opening of Holiday Inn Resort Halong Bay, targeted to open in Q3 2027, and establish a successful resort in one of Vietnam's most celebrated tourism destinations.
Renowned for its dramatic limestone islands and emerald waters, Ha Long Bay is one of Vietnam's most iconic tourism destinations, attracting both domestic and international travellers. With improving connectivity, expanding tourism infrastructure and a growing leisure market, Halong Bay presents exciting opportunities for hospitality growth.
Located in the vibrant Bai Chay tourism district, close to Sun World and the beach, the new‑build resort will feature approximately 209 guestrooms, three dining venues, an outdoor infinity pool, family‑friendly recreational facilities, a spa and five meeting and event spaces. The resort is well positioned to serve leisure travellers, families, corporate retreats, MICE and weddings.
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead the resort through pre‑opening, establish a strong market position and build a high‑performing team to deliver long‑term success.
The role
- Lead all aspects of pre‑opening, ensuring operational readiness, brand standards and a successful resort launch.
- Develop and execute commercial strategies to establish the resort's market positioning, drive revenue growth and profitability.
- Maximise business opportunities across leisure, Food & Beverage, MICE, weddings and other key segments.
- Build strong relationships with tourism partners, corporate clients and local business networks to generate demand.
- Recruit, inspire and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and service excellence.
- Partner closely with ownership, IHG and key stakeholders to deliver business objectives, operational excellence and long‑term asset value.
What we need from you
- Proven General Manager experience within an internationally branded, full‑service resort or leisure hotel environment.
- Previous pre‑opening experience, with a successful track record of launching hotel operations.
- Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of driving revenue, profitability and market share across resort and leisure operations.
- Strong local Vietnamese market knowledge with established commercial networks across domestic leisure, MICE and wedding segments.
- Excellent operational leadership, with the ability to build high‑performing teams, develop local talent and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly in working with hotel owners and corporate teams.
