Help us reimagine the 21st‑century University.
Fulbright University Vietnam is an independent, not‑for‑profit university in Ho Chi Minh City. FSPPM is the University’s founding academic unit, building on more than two decades of public‑policy teaching, research, leadership development, and dialogue. The School’s Master in Public Policy is the first graduate program in Southeast Asia to receive accreditation from the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA). FSPPM’s mission is to advance transformative, innovative, and inclusive public policy and management in Vietnam through education, research, and engagement.
FSPPM’s distinctive ambition is to connect rigorous analysis with consequential decisions in government, business, and society. Its executive programs serve public institutions, state‑owned enterprises, private corporations, and social organizations navigating the interaction of markets, policy, institutions, and global change.
About the Role
FSPPM seeks an accomplished scholar‑practitioner to help senior executives translate geopolitical, policy, macroeconomic, technological, and societal change into clear strategic choices, capability priorities, and executable transformation agendas. The successful candidate will help FSPPM build strategy offerings for executives across major sectors of the Vietnamese economy.

Roles and Responsibilities
The Lecturer of Practice will serve both as a lead faculty member in Business Strategy and as a curriculum integrator across FSPPM’s executive education portfolio. The role will include the following responsibilities:
- Play a central part in developing FSPPM’s new executive offerings at the intersection of business leadership, public policy, macroeconomic intelligence, technology, and institutional reform, including the School’s Mini MBA/MPP‑style programmes for senior executives.
- Design and teach rigorous, decision‑oriented modules in business and corporate strategy for mid‑to‑senior executives, using case studies, simulations, applied exercises, and board‑level discussions rather than framework‑heavy lectures.
- Help participants make and defend choices about markets, customer segments, portfolios, business models, partnerships, capabilities, resource allocation, risk appetite, and what the organization should stop doing.
- Translate geopolitical shifts, public policy, regulation, macroeconomic scenarios, technological change, and sustainability pressures into strategic implications for firms and sectors.
- Co‑design and coach Strategic Action Projects through which participant teams address a live organizational challenge and produce recommendations suitable for senior management or board review.
- Participate in selected client discovery conversations with corporate partners to understand leadership‑development needs, sector‑specific pain points, and strategic challenges, and translate them into customized executive‑learning designs.
- Develop reusable cases, teaching notes, executive tools, and other intellectual property grounded in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, while drawing selectively on global practice.
- Contribute to selected MPP, customized executive, and other professional programs where business strategy and the business‑policy interface are central.
Other duties: Perform other duties as assigned. All expectations are scaled to the agreed FTE and appointment format.
What we look for
Education: An advanced degree (MBA, MPP, MA/MS, DBA, or PhD) is preferred; exceptional professional achievement may substitute for a terminal degree.
Experience:
- Typically 15+ years of senior experience in corporate or business‑unit strategy, strategy consulting, corporate development, transformation, or entrepreneurship.
- A record of shaping or advising consequential strategic decisions at enterprise, portfolio, or sector level.
- Proven ability to teach and facilitate mid‑to‑senior executives; executive education experience is an advantage.
- Experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated and policy‑sensitive sectors such as technology, infrastructure, energy, logistics, real estate, or industrial development is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Mastery of strategic choice, competitive advantage, portfolio and resource allocation, business models, capability building, and strategy under uncertainty.
- Solid grasp of the business‑policy interface: institutions, regulation, sector policy, and state‑market relations.
- Sound judgment, discretion, and integrity on politically or institutionally sensitive issues; a collegial, cross‑disciplinary approach.
- Excellent command of English. Vietnamese language ability and substantive experience in Vietnam or Southeast Asia are strong advantages.
Appointment format
- FSPPM is intentionally open to different appointment formats so that the role can attract outstanding candidates who remain active in professional practice. The appointment may be full‑time, part‑time, or visiting/practice‑based. The School anticipates an initial fixed‑term appointment, with exact FTE, contract length, annual contribution, in‑person presence, and remuneration agreed to reflect the candidate’s experience and the School’s program needs.
- For a part‑time or non‑resident appointment, teaching may be organized in intensive blocks in Ho Chi Minh City, with selected curriculum design, coaching, and faculty collaboration conducted remotely.
- Active external professional work is welcome, subject to the University’s requirements on conflicts of interest, confidentiality, academic integrity, and availability. Any teaching, service, and program‑development expectations will be proportionate to the agreed appointment.
What we offer
- A passionate team that believes in the transformative power of education, in a dynamic, innovative, English‑speaking environment.
- Competitive salary and high‑end insurance for employees and direct family members.
- Professional development, flexible work arrangements, and access to public talks, workshops, and seminars at Fulbright.
