Overview
Ensure snack production machinery and manufacturing lines operate reliably, safely, and efficiently while meeting productivity and quality requirements. Minimize equipment downtime and production disruptions that could impact output, operational performance, and food safety standards.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections for the following equipment:
- Potato snack production lines.
- Motors, gearboxes, pumps, fans, pneumatic systems, conveyors, sensors, valves, heating systems, and related equipment.
- Carry out maintenance activities according to PM schedules and checklists, ensuring all maintenance records are accurately documented in maintenance logs or systems (SAP/CMMS, if applicable).
Corrective Maintenance
- Receive production breakdown notifications and respond promptly to equipment failures on the shop floor.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues; perform repairs and restore equipment operation as quickly as possible while maintaining safety standards.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Engineers and external vendors when handling complex issues involving PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, encoders, weighing systems, metal detectors, and other specialized equipment.
Operational Support & Equipment Improvement
- Support production teams with equipment setup, changeovers, and mechanical/electrical parameter adjustments for different SKUs.
- Propose equipment improvement initiatives to:
- Reduce downtime.
- Minimize raw material losses.
- Reduce product waste and defects.
- Improve equipment reliability and process stability.
- Participate in Kaizen, TPM, Root Cause Analysis, and Continuous Improvement activities using methodologies such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and 8D.
Safety, Quality & Hygiene
- Strictly comply with all safety requirements, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), PPE, working at heights, rotating equipment safety, and electrical safety.
- Ensure maintenance activities do not compromise product safety or quality; fully comply with GMP, HACCP, and sanitation requirements for snack production equipment, particularly in frying, seasoning, and packaging areas.
- Maintain 5S standards in maintenance workshops, spare parts storage areas, mechanical workshops, and assigned equipment areas.
Spare Parts, Documentation & Reporting
- Monitor inventory and recommend timely procurement and replacement of critical spare parts, including bearings, seals, belts, fryer screens, cutting blades, sensors, contactors, encoders, VFDs, and other essential components.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair histories through work orders, maintenance records, and Excel tracking files.
- Report major breakdowns, recurring equipment failures, and potential safety risks to the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor in a timely manner.
