About the Role
- Hands‑on technical leader for Platform Engineering team.
- Set direction for cloud infrastructure and developer platforms.
- Lead a small team (3‑5 engineers) while staying close to code.
- Own GCP infrastructure, networking, compute, storage, CI/CD, observability, IaC, developer experience, and FinOps.
Key Responsibilities
- Set technical direction and roadmap for Platform.
- Own reliability, performance, and cost of Traild’s GCP footprint.
- Improve developer experience: CI/CD pipelines, build/deploy tooling, observability, and reduce friction.
- Stay hands‑on as a working member of the team.
- Hold technical bar through design review, code review, and standards.
- Grow and support around five engineers, including hiring.
- Own operational health and incident response for foundational services.
Who You Are
- Led a small engineering team or been the most senior engineer.
- Deep experience with cloud infrastructure at production scale (GCP or AWS).
- Fluent in infrastructure‑as‑code, CI/CD, and observability.
- Passionate about platform as a product and can set direction.
- Experienced in growing engineers and understanding learning.
- Strong communicator, building trust with senior stakeholders.
- Ship fast and safely.
- Strong collaborator with growth mindset, hands‑on execution, adaptability, and scale‑up spirit.
