The Indoor RAS Specialist is responsible for managing and operating fish and shrimp trials within an Indoor RAS. The role supports R&D activities by executing aqua feeds and challenge trials, optimizing system performance, and ensuring accurate and traceable data collection in compliance with established protocols and SOPs.
Job Description:
Main Tasks
- Prepare and implement trial protocols, including:
- Trial design, stocking, feeding regimes, sampling procedures.
- Tanks and system set up and preparation.
- Manage daily operations of the indoor RAS facility, including:
- Water quality monitoring and control.
- System operation and maintenance.
- Fish and shrimp health monitoring.
- Execute aqua feeds and challenge trials according to approved experimental protocols.
- Ensure strict adherence to biosecurity procedures and protocols.
- Conduct daily data collection, recording and monitoring.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve SOPs for RAS operation and trial execution.
- Ensure data accuracy, traceability and compliance with SOPs.
- Support statistical data preparation, analysis, and reporting for R&D purposes.
- Troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions to ensure stability and minimize variation between replicates.
- Facility & equipment responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain key RAS components, including biofilters, drum filters, UV systems, pumps and aeration systems.
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance of equipment.
