Senior Business Operations & Strategy Specialist

About the Role
We are looking for a highly analytical and commercially minded Senior Business Operations & Strategy Specialist to work closely with the CEO in managing business performance, evaluating operations, and supporting strategic growth initiatives.
This role sits at the intersection of Business, Finance, Technology, and Operations. You will be responsible for turning business data and operational insights into clear recommendations, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting the CEO in executing strategic priorities.
The ideal candidate combines the analytical mindset of a Business Analyst with strong business acumen, financial understanding, technology awareness, and the ability to work independently across functions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business & Operational Analysis
- Monitor and evaluate business and operational performance across functions.
- Analyze business processes, workflows, costs, productivity, and performance metrics.
- Identify operational inefficiencies, bottlenecks, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and management summaries for the CEO.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Follow up on agreed actions and ensure execution stays on track.
2. Financial & Commercial Analysis
- Analyze revenue, costs, margins, profitability, budgets, and other key financial indicators.
- Build and maintain financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses.
- Evaluate the financial impact and ROI of business initiatives.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and business performance reviews.
- Work with Finance to validate financial assumptions and business performance data.
3. Strategy & Business Expansion
- Support the CEO in evaluating new business opportunities, markets, products, and partnerships.
- Conduct market, competitor, and industry research.
- Assess market attractiveness, commercial potential, operational requirements, and risks.
- Prepare business cases and recommendations for expansion initiatives.
- Support strategic projects from analysis through implementation.
4. Cross‑functional Execution
- Work closely with Product, Technology, Finance, HR, Sales, and Operations teams.
- Coordinate strategic initiatives across multiple functions.
- Challenge assumptions and identify gaps when necessary.
- Track project progress, risks, dependencies, and key deliverables.
- Ensure decisions made at the leadership level are translated into execution.
5. CEO Support & Management Reporting
- Prepare executive presentations, business reviews, analysis, and decision materials.
- Consolidate information from different functions into a clear view of business performance.
- Proactively identify issues that require management attention.
- Support the CEO with ad‑hoc analysis and strategic projects.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis, IT Business Analysis, Business Operations, Strategy & Operations, Product Operations, Management Consulting, or a similar analytical role.
- Strong business and commercial acumen.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including P&L, revenue, cost, margin, ROI, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets and strong ability to work with business data.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to create clear executive‑level reports and presentations.
- Good understanding of technology, digital products, and how technology supports business operations.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work with large or ambiguous problems and structure them into actionable solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working independently.
- Comfortable working directly with senior leadership and handling confidential business information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in IT Business Analysis or technology‑related business analysis.
- Experience working directly with founders, CEOs, or senior management.
- Experience in a technology, SaaS, fintech, HR tech, or other digital business.
- Experience with business expansion, market entry, or new business initiatives.
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar.
- Basic understanding of SQL or data analytics is a plus.
