Job Description
We are looking for an AR Billing Accountant for a short‑term assignment, offering full statutory social insurance coverage and paid leave benefits.
This role owns the cost side of delivery: it turns NetSuite GL, payroll and staffing data into a reconciled COGS and gross margin view, by legal entity, regional P&L and project. KMS is an IT services company operating across Vietnam, the US, Mexico and Poland, with performance managed by legal entity and regional P&L. Delivery cost is the largest driver of our margin.
You will run the monthly COGS reconciliation and gross margin reporting cycle, and produce the Delivery KPIs (utilization, cost per unit, revenue and cost per head). You will work closely with the Finance Manager, Accounting, Billing, HR/Payroll, RMO, IT BizApps and Delivery leaders.
Key responsibilities
1. Gross margin calculation and COGS reconciliation (monthly close)
- Calculate monthly gross margin and GM% by legal entity and regional P&L.
- Reconcile COGS (direct and indirect) to the GL and P&L in NetSuite, explain and resolve variances, and compare actual COGS against budget and forecast.
- Run control checks between source data (staffing report, payroll by employee, department and location) and the GL. Investigate and fix breaks before reporting.
- Own the system‑generated GM calculation in NetSuite: check its output each close, work with IT BizApps to diagnose and fix calculation issues, and run a manual GM calculation as a fallback so reporting deadlines are still met.
- Maintain and improve the reconciliation workbook, its formulas and its supporting notes so the process is auditable and repeatable.
2. Gross margin analysis
- Maintain sold GM in NetSuite with the Billing team: collect and validate sold GM from SOWs and change requests and track actual GM against sold GM and delivery goals.
- Flag low‑margin or deteriorating projects early and recommend actions to the Finance Manager and Delivery leaders.
- Take part in reforecasts and in COGS and GM% exercises requested.
- Build and maintain GM reporting in NetSuite and Power BI for Finance and Delivery management.
3. Delivery KPIs
- Prepare the monthly utilization report (billable, non‑billable and bench FTE) by legal entity, regional P&L and delivery unit, and run the monthly resource staffing and finalization process with RMO, HR and the F&A team.
- Calculate and track cost per unit, revenue per head and cost per head, and analyze the trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
- 3–5 years in FP&A, management accounting or cost accounting. Experience in IT services, outsourcing or another people‑based services business is strongly preferred.
- Hands‑on experience with COGS or cost reconciliation to the GL/P&L and gross margin analysis.
- Strong understanding of how people’s costs drive margin: payroll, allocations, utilization, billing and cost rates.
- Experience working with IT or system teams to define data requirements and automate reporting, and with cross‑functional stakeholders (Billing, RMO, HR, Delivery).
- Advanced Excel, ERP experience (NetSuite preferred), plus hands‑on experience with system dashboards and reporting tools: NetSuite saved searches, reports and dashboards, and Power BI dashboards for financial.
- Good written and spoken English for reporting to US based stakeholders.
- Able to take over the monthly running process quickly and meet close deadlines.
