What will you work on?
Manage end‑to‑end product development activities—from design & development to model & tool making, and finally to production start—to ensure the product meets design specifications, quality expectations, achieves cost targets, and stays on schedule.
How will you create impact?
- Work with internal stakeholders as well as external suppliers on the product development activities.
- Carry out project management and monitor progress with regular status updates; take necessary actions to keep the project on schedule.
- Review overall product design and provide cost‑saving ideas as required to meet cost targets.
- Initiate design changes and modifications as needed to ensure the product meets design and quality specifications.
- Provide on‑site technical & manufacturing support, including product debugging, root‑cause analysis, problem troubleshooting, and corrective actions.
- Support internal stakeholders on any production output or capacity‑related issues and material authorization review.
- Assist sourcing, MOQ, and cost negotiation of new and/or consigned materials when required.
What are your skills and experience?
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Over 5 years of working experience, preferably in the toy industry, with the ability to manage projects independently. Candidates without a toy background but with experience in electronics or the home appliances industry are highly preferred.
- Able to review 3D CAD files and working models, and conduct DFM & DFA to ensure the product can be manufactured with the required quality, cost, and lead time.
- Understand plastic injection mold, casting mold construction, and molding parameters.
- Able to troubleshoot injection‑molding defects and provide corrective actions.
- Understand surface decoration such as spray painting, tampo printing, heat transfer, and DIJ.
- Understand assembly processes such as ultrasonic welding, gluing, heat staking, and automation.
- Good command of English and communication skills; ability in Chinese is an added advantage.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and familiarity with basic root‑cause analysis techniques to develop corrective action plans.
- Strong project‑management skills with the ability to conduct and lead project meetings independently.
- Able to work from concept drawing through development until production.
