1. KEY OBJECTIVES
- Utilize and integrate all relevant subsurface information (i.e. seismic and well data) to identify and high‑grade play types and mature prospect inventory.
- Principal role to convert geoscience interpretations (maps, etc.) into discrete earth models utilizing multiple subsurface scenarios capturing structural, stratigraphic and petrophysical uncertainties, for reserves assessment, equity determination, history matching, production optimization and development scenarios.
- Assist team review of potential appraisal and development well locations and trajectories.
- Assess and understand key criteria.
- Present and defend technical position to partners and independent arbitrators if required.
- Conduct detailed technical evaluations of rock and fluid distributions in individual reservoir systems utilizing petrophysical, geological and seismic data.
- Work closely with drilling engineers, operations geologists, petrophysicists and reservoir engineers on all aspects of well planning and implementation.
- Provide technical input to drilling programs for appraisal and development wells (geological cross sections, correlations and facies model).
- Prepare and present technical data to partners during all stages of project evaluation, well proposals, Field Development Plan’s and project implementations, to achieve endorsements and approvals for proposed work activities.
- Conduct resource assessments to SPE/PETRONAS guidelines for all oil and gas fields and provide technical inputs into ARPR submissions.
- Establish and maintain technical database of all geological interpretation.
- Provide senior management with task schedules, work plans, regular progress reports and inputs into management reports (weekly, monthly).
1. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide technically accurate and geologically sound reservoir descriptions for Oil and Gas Fields that incorporate sufficient detail to meet objectives.
- Build, update and or provide input to fully integrated geological models, including accurate fault modeling, for input into reservoir simulation utilizing Petrel software. Incorporate sufficient detail to meet key value drivers and project milestones.
- Integrate reservoir geological modeling studies with other disciplines, including sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy, structural geology, petrophysics, geophysics and reservoir engineering.
- Optimize appraisal/development well locations in conjunction with the geophysicist(s) and reservoir engineer(s) using Petrel as the common work platform.
- Provide geological input to drilling programs for appraisal and development wells (geological cross sections, correlations and facies models).
- Prepare and present technical data to partners during all stages of project evaluation, well proposals, Field Development Plans and project implementations, to achieve endorsements and approvals for proposed work activities.
- Work closely with drilling engineers, operations geologists, petrophysicists and reservoir engineers on all aspects of well planning and implementation.
- Represent the company at technical committee meetings and government meetings as required.
