Position Overview

The Finance Manager – Vietnam owns country‑level finance for Intrepid's Vietnam entities: commercial finance and business partnering, forecasting and cash flow, G&A, tax, statutory reporting, local compliance, banking governance and capital matters. The role reports directly to the Head of Finance VN & COE, and works alongside them as finance partner to the Vietnam CEO, business teams and local teams.
The Finance Manager is Intrepid's primary point of contact with Vietnamese tax authorities, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), licensing authorities, banks and external advisors. The role partners with the COE's Record & Close and Transaction Ops teams, who handle day‑to‑day bookkeeping and payments, and makes sure Vietnam's filings, cash and capital positions are accurate, timely and audit‑ready.
Entities in scope: Intrepid Vietnam (INT VN), Datamart Vietnam (DMX VN), and tax matters for Datamart Solutions Pte. Ltd. (DMX SG).

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Finance & Business Partnering

  • Act as finance business partner to the Vietnam CEO, business teams and local teams, working with the Head of Finance VN on cash flow, commercial and operational topics.
  • Own the Vietnam monthly forecast and rolling cash flow forecast, and explain variances against budget and the prior forecast.
  • Support commercial decisions with analysis: client and brand profitability, pricing and contract terms, platform fee changes and new business models.
  • Own G&A for the Vietnam entities: budget, monthly tracking against budget, cost control and approval workflows.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues that affect cash, margin or compliance (such as collections, payment terms or invoicing gaps), working with business owners to fix root causes.
  • Prepare monthly Vietnam business performance commentary for the CEO and Group Finance.

Tax Compliance & Advisory

  • Own all statutory tax declarations (VAT, CIT, PIT, FCT) for the Vietnam entities, accurately and on time, in line with current regulations (Decree 123/2020/ND‑CP as amended by Decree 70/2025/ND‑CP, Circular 78/2021/TT‑BTC, Decree 117/2025/ND‑CP, the Law on Tax Administration and related guidance).
  • Own e‑invoicing compliance (Viettel SInvoice) and resolve invoice‑tax discrepancies.
  • Own transfer pricing and intercompany tax positions, including the monthly DMX VN recharge: invoicing, collection follow‑up and supporting documentation.
  • Act as the internal tax advisor for the business on new products, contracts, platform fee changes, and affiliate/creator payment structures (e.g. TikTok PIT/FCT withholding).
  • Track open tax risks and resolve them, escalating material issues to the Head of Finance VN & COE and Group CFO.

Statutory Reporting & Local Compliance

  • Own Vietnam statutory financial statements (VAS) and the annual statutory audit with external auditors, including CIT and PIT finalisation.
  • Own the local compliance calendar for tax, SBV, statistics and licensing reports, with zero missed deadlines.
  • Govern Vietnam‑specific balance sheet areas: Owner's Equity, Fixed Assets (including DMX software capitalisation), Payroll & Statutory contributions, Finance Lease, and Other receivables/payables.
  • Take over Vietnam legal and licensing compliance (ERC/IRC amendments, foreign investment reporting).

Banking, Cash & Capital

  • Own banking governance for the Vietnam entities: bank relationships (Vietcombank, HSBC), account opening and maintenance, signatory matrices, and the DICA (direct investment capital account).
  • Lead the conversion of the parent company loan into equity through to completion, including SBV registration, ERC/IRC amendments and bank sign‑off.
  • Monitor daily cash positions and review bank reconciliations. Payments are executed by the COE AP team.
  • Manage foreign loan registration and reporting obligations with the SBV.

External Stakeholders & Advisors

  • Serve as Intrepid's primary contact with tax authorities, the SBV, licensing authorities, banks and external advisors.
  • Manage external tax and legal advisors: scope, fees, technical opinions and second opinions.
  • Partner with Group Finance and the COE's Record & Close, Transaction Ops and Data Automation teams, so that data flows correctly from source systems into filings.

Process & Controls

  • Build and maintain SOPs for all Vietnam tax, statutory and banking processes.
  • Assess the impact of new laws, decrees and circulars on existing processes, and lead the change to compliant practice.
  • Identify automation opportunities in NetSuite and e‑invoicing, and work with Tech and Data Automation to deliver them.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field. CPA, ACCA or Certified Tax Agent preferred.
  • 8+ years in Vietnam finance roles across commercial finance or FP&A, tax and statutory reporting, including at least 2–3 years at Finance Manager, Tax Manager or equivalent level. Big 4 experience followed by in‑house ownership is a strong plus.
  • Commercial finance, FP&A or business partnering experience, including forecasting, cash flow management and working directly with a CEO or business leadership.
  • Deep, hands‑on knowledge of VAT, CIT, PIT, FCT, transfer pricing and e‑invoicing. Has personally prepared and filed declarations, not only reviewed them.
  • Proven experience with foreign‑invested enterprises: DICA, foreign loan registration with the SBV, capital changes and ERC/IRC amendments.
  • Track record of dealing directly with tax authorities, the SBV and banks, including tax audits.
  • Strong VAS statutory reporting skills. Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP. E‑commerce, cross‑border or multi‑entity experience preferred.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Vietnamese. Able to explain complex local rules clearly to regional leadership.
  • Owner mindset: comfortable running recurring compliance work with zero missed deadlines while improving processes in a fast‑changing regulatory environment.

What Success Looks Like in Year One

  • Monthly Vietnam forecast and rolling cash flow forecast in place and reviewed with the CEO and Head of Finance VN, with G&A tracked against budget.
  • Zero missed tax, SBV or statutory deadlines across the Vietnam entities.
  • Parent loan‑to‑equity conversion completed, with the DICA fully operational.
  • Clean statutory audit and CIT/PIT finalisation for FY2026.
  • SOPs in place for all Vietnam tax, statutory and banking processes, with open tax risks documented and either resolved or under an agreed plan.

In return, you will be getting

  • Join an all‑star Finance team which continues to raise the bar, with systems and processes (and company stability) at the level of sophistication of a small multinational, but with a 'start‑up' spirit of innovation and continuous improvement in an ever‑evolving world.
  • In terms of learning opportunities, our organization is second to none. You will get to work on a variety of business models across many different clients as if we are 5 companies in one, and everyone is involved in projects to drive further improvement.
  • Regional teams and country Finance teams collaborate closely to ensure all finance aspects of our business are optimized, giving you a wide exposure and enhanced learning curve in a close‑knit and supportive team.

We also offer

Best of Both Worlds

We are a scale up: the sophistication of a small multinational, with the agility of a start‑up. Good ideas get implemented. You are the master of your own destiny.

Culture that Brings Out the Best

At Intrepid, culture is not just a buzzword, it is what we practice at work every day. We believe in collaboration over competition, transparency over politics, and willingness to learn over ego.
